Kiara, congratulations on being the first person to post a question/comment on the class website! For this class, I would reference a paper from ASAP with the author name, journal name, volume number, and then the word ASAP. For example,

Corey, JACS 2009, 131, ASAP.
or
Stang, Org. Lett. 2009, 11, ASAP.

If you're referencing an ASAP paper for something more official (eg. your thesis or a publication), I believe you would have to include the URL and the web pub date. For example,

Stang, P. S. Org. Lett. 2009, 11, ASAP. DOI: XXXX. Published Online: September 2, 2009. http://pubs.acs.org/XXX

There's a great book that explains exactly how to reference different types of publications like this. It's called "The ACS Style Guide."

With current literature, how do you reference from an ASAP journal? Do you mention the web pub date instead of the actual publish date volume and page number??
